BakkesMod Is Gone. Your Auto-Replay Uploads Don't Have to Be.

Rocket League's Easy Anti-Cheat update goes live today, and with it, BakkesMod. Here's what's changing, what's not, and how to keep auto-uploading your replays without missing a game.

Rocket League's Easy Anti-Cheat update went live April 28th and with it, BakkesMod. Here's what's changing, what's not, and how to keep auto-uploading your replayswithout missing a game.

What Is Easy Anti-Cheat, and Why Does It Matter?

Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) is an anti-cheat system used by hundreds of games across PC gaming, and as of today, it's officially part of Rocket League. Psyonix has integrated EAC to protectthe competitive integrity of ranked and tournament play, cracking down on thecheats and hacks that have crept into the game.

The idea is simple: EAC monitors the game at a low level to detect unauthorized software running alongside it. If something isn't approved, it doesn't run or the game doesn't launch.

For most Rocket League players, this means nothing changes. If you're just playing the game, EAC runs silently in the background and you'll never notice it.

But for players who have relied on third-party tools, especially BakkesMod, today is a different story.

BakkesMod: A Legend Being Retired

Let's be clear about something: BakkesMod is one of the greatest community tools ever built for any game. For years, it's been the backbone of Rocket League's training ecosystem with free aerial training packs, custom workshop maps, mechanical drill modes, and yes, automatic replay uploads.

The BakkesMod team built something genuinely remarkable, and millions of players are better at Rocket League because of it. We worked with the Bakkesmod team to help deliver our product because we never saw the need to compete with them.

Why EAC Affects BakkesMod

BakkesMod works by injecting into Rocket League's memory at runtime to add  functionality the base game doesn't have. This is the same technical approach that cheats use so EAC blocks it (in theory). The BakkesMod developers have confirmed the tool will not be compatible with EAC-enabled Rocket League.

The BakkesMod community has knownthis day was coming. The developers have been transparent about EAC compatibility, and the Rocket League community has had time to prepare. That doesn't make it less of a loss though.

But here's the thing: BakkesModdid a lot of different things. Training packs, workshop maps, plugins, andautomatic replay uploads. Most of those features are going away. But the replay upload piece? That one has a direct replacement, and it's been ready since before today.

What Happens to Automatic Replay Uploads?

One of BakkesMod's most-used features for DataCoach users was its automatic replay upload plugin. After every ranked match, BakkesMod would detect the new replay file and push it toDataCoach automatically with no manual steps, or forgetting to upload after a late-night session.

That workflow ends with EAC. BakkesMod can't run, so the plugin can't run, so automatic uploads stop.

Or rather, that's how it would work if we hadn't built a replacement.

The good news

DataCoach built its own lightweight desktop app specifically to handle automatic replay uploads withno BakkesMod required. It watches your Rocket League replay folder and uploads new files automatically, exactly like the BakkesMod plugin did. It's EAC-compatible by design because it never touches the game, it only reads the files Rocket League saves to your disk.

Introducing the DataCoach Desktop App

We've been building the DataCoachdesktop app quietly for a while now and with EAC going live today is the moment itsteps into the spotlight.

The app is lightweight, runs in your system tray, and does one thing extremely well: it watches your Rocket League replay folder and automatically uploads new replays to your DataCoach account the moment a match ends. No configuration, no BakkesMod, no plugins.

How It Works

•      Install the DataCoachdesktop app

•      Log in with your DataCoach account

•      The app watches your Rocket League replay folder in the background

•      Every time Rocket League saves a new .replay file, it's automatically uploaded to DataCoach

•      Your analysis is ready in your dashboard within seconds of the match ending

Why It's EAC-Safe

The DataCoach app never touches Rocket League while the game is running. It doesn't inject into the game process, it doesn't modify memory, and it doesn't communicate with the game at all. It simply watches the folder where Rocket League saves replay files.

Frequently Asked Questions

These are the questions players are asking right now.

Does Rocket League Easy Anti-Cheat affect DataCoach?

No. DataCoach is a web and desktop platform, it doesn't run inside Rocket League and doesn't interact with the game process. EAC only monitors software that touches the game while it's running. DataCoach reads your replay files after the match, so it's completely unaffected.

Will BakkesMod work after the EAC update?

No. BakkesMod works by injecting into Rocket League's game process, which EAC detects and blocks. The BakkesMod team has confirmed the tool is not compatible with EAC-enabled Rocket League. The plugin ecosystem, training packs that require BakkesMod, and the automatic replay upload plugin will all stop working after April 28.

How do I keep auto-uploading my replays without BakkesMod?

Download the DataCoach desktop app from your dashboard. It watches your Rocket League replay folder and auto-uploads new replays the moment a match ends. It's lightweight, runs in the background, and is fully EAC-compatible.

Is the DataCoach desktop app free?

The desktop app is available to all DataCoach accounts, including the free plan. Log in to your dashboard, navigate to the Desktop App section, and download. If you don't have a DataCoach account yet, you can sign up free here

What else is affected by Rocket League Easy Anti-Cheat?

Any tool that injects into the Rocket League process will be blocked . This includes BakkesMod, most training plugins that rely on BakkesMod, and certain stat-tracking overlays. Tools that read data externally (like DataCoach's desktop app or web-based replay analysis) are unaffected.

Same Replays. Same Analysis. Zero Disruption.

EAC is a meaningful change for the Rocket League tool ecosystem. BakkesMod being pushed out is a real loss to the RL community.

But your ability to analyze your replays, understand your habits, and rank up smarter? That's not going anywhere.

Download the desktop app from your DataCoach dashboard, and pick up right where you left off. If you're new to DataCoach, start here for free.
